Louisiana Tech IIE | ||
Chapter History |
IIE provides leadership in developing industrial engineering; in representing the industrial engineering profession; and in enhancing the capabilities of those who are involved in or manage the application, education, training, research, or development of industrial engineering.
The Institute of Industrial Engineers is an international organization that was founded in 1948. IIE promotes various areas of the industrial engineering field by publishing magazines and books, holding conferences, supporting students, and much more. The Louisiana Tech student chapter, member since 1974, organizes several social and professional activities throughout the year. Through these activities, students are encouraged to network within the department, with other universities, and with members of industry. Students find opportunities to develop their skills in communication, leadership, teamwork and planning.
Recently the chapter won the gold award for year 2003. The chapter aims to enhance the professional characteristics of an industrial engineer and develop his/her personality as a whole.
