Winter Quarter Classes

We will be offering two technical electives winter quarter. They are:

MEEN 448    Gas Dynamics                                         Dr. Callens

MEMT 411    Advanced Engineering Materials             Dr. Jordan

The most requested course in our survey of seniors, MEEN 435, IC Engines, is on our list to be taught during spring quarter. Our faculty teaching loads are very heavy for winter quarter, and we did not have any professor with time to teach this course. We will also offer several other technical electives during spring quarter.

Industrial Advisory Council

Our council will be here on Friday and Saturday (October 17 and 18). One of their tasks is to provide us candid feedback from the students. We would like you to meet with them for a seminar in BH 326 at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17. Council members will share the things they wished they had known when they graduated. Following this short seminar the council will meet with students (without faculty members being present). This will allow the students to give valuable feedback to the faculty in a way that preserves anonymity.

As an encouragement to attend this seminar and feedback time, most ME faculty will be offering some form of additional credit in their courses for students who attend. Please see your individual faculty members for what is being offered in each course.

Hog Cooking

On Friday, October 17, following the interaction time with the Industrial Advisory Council, students, faculty, council, and friends will adjourn to the ground floor of Bogard Hall for our annual pre-homecoming feast. For the third year in a row the menu will feature the all night cooked hog, organized by Dr. Carey Cox.
